Yash M - a different CA Student

He is 20 today. At 15 he weighed 98kgs. He decided we wanted to shed it all. He started to run. At 16 and 18 he was youngest runner at half and full marathon. He is 65kgs today at 5.11 height. Was on Nike Ad all over Mumbai before the Mumbai marathon in January. He runs 4 days a week and 35 kms on a Sunday.

Has run at a number of marathons accross India. The way he took me through how to run, motivated me to run a bit more, and a bit more, and sprint at the end, sounded like he was a pro. He said he has made a 40 day program for people who want to learn to run.

Most moving was, he is off for TY exams from today. Still he said Sir, next Friday we will run again together. It showed he really wanted to share what changed his life with others. He is a living miracle. He talked about how this was his passion and how we all need to have at least 1 thing we are passionate about. And when you hear what he has done to himself, you get a glimpse of what it is to be passionate about and what determination does. I was so rejuvenated even though a Friday is always like end of week tiring day. We ran half of Marine Drive. Felt so glad to know a young man like him.

And guess what - I had invited everyone in office to come to learn from Yash so they can learn from one another. Only 4 people responded. And no one made it. So I got his exclusive attention and guidance. But too bad that they might miss seeing in action the human spirit of "if I can can, you can can". When ordinary people do extraordinary things, its a miracle. Sometimes miracles are not too far, they are right there, shinning and sparkling, just that we have eyes but can't see.
